I'm still alive!

rescue squad
Hey everyone...whoever's out there! Just letting y'all know that I'm not dead!

Most everyone knows this already, but for those who don't...I just got a new job! Yup, started last Friday. I'm the new Unit Coordinator in the McDowell Hospital Emergency Room! It's interesting but very intense and fast paced work. I've got so much to learn yet...my head is still spinning with all that I've learned so far and everything that I have yet to learn. Basically my job consists of putting into the computer the stuff that the Drs or RNs order for a patient...lab work, x-rays, etc, setting up follow-up appointments for patients, making copies, putting charges into the computer so the business office can bill the patients, being the step-and-fetch-it, etc. As Cyndee so nicely put it..."Oh, you're a Glorified Gofer!"

It's just a month yet 'til I get to see my big bro again!!! I can't wait!!! It will be 5 months since I've seen him - that's the longest I've ever gone without seeing one of my bros - we talk on the phone every couple of weeks but it's still not the same and we can't have really deep extended conversations with limited amounts of time and never knowing when we're going to get cut off.

I had a blast up at the Rohn's last night! They had some company visiting from NH and VA and we all love to square dance (or at least *try* to square dance) so we spent quite a bit of time perfecting our skills on one dance. I even wore a blister on my big toe!!! Then s'mores around the fire, and music, and blowing the nickle out of the cup, and I finally had to drag myself away from the delightful company and take William (and me) home to bed! It was great getting to meet new friends and hopefully we'll get to visit together again sometime!

Well, must go!

New look?

So what does everyone think of my new layout? I'm still trying to deside what I think of it. I think I like it but there's something missing yet. Hmmm.... Well, I've stayed up entirely too late working on this so I shall now take myself off to bed and tuck myself in for the night! Good-night!

BTW...for those of you who don't know...last night was the last night of class for the spring semester! I made high 90's averages in all my classes! Woohoo!!!

(no subject)

Well, I know this is getting kinda late in the week to be talking about my weekend but it was so great! I worked at the store and studied hard Saturday and then Saturday evening played hard at volleyball! We played at the gym at PG again - it was so nice out that I wish we had played outside. Maybe next time...

Then on Sunday since church was cancelled Mom, William and I went to Cattaloochee with some of my favorite people! It was the absolute perfect day for it! For all of you who didn't make it - you missed out big time! There's just something so romantic (and I am not using that word in the lovey-dovey sense) about picnicing on a blanket in a field next to a little white country church with a bell that you can still ring. We played frisbee and Hillarey actually taught me how to hula-hoop! Can you believe it? It took me 24 years, but I've *finally* done it! And to top it off we got to see a bunch of bull elk quite close up.

Oh! Before I forget...drum roll, please...I made a 97 on that last Payroll Accounting test! I was shocked and thrilled!

I guess it's official now...Jason called day before yesterday and said tha he is definately staying for the duration of the project. Maybe he'll be home for Thanksgiving...Anyhow, I'm gonna miss him like crazy but I'm at peace about it because I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is where God wants him to be.

More randomness...

This weekend was great - I was lazy all day Saturday and spent Sunday with friends! What more could you ask for? Holding little Patch is very theriputic. :^)

I'm very glad that I ended up playing hookey from school Thursday evening and going to Daniel's b-ball game since their team ended up losing and not getting to play the next evening like I was counting on! It was a very bad, horrible game! I think I could have about done a better job reffing the game than the refs did! What a way to end his b-ball career - so sad.

I was so cold at work today for some reason that for the very first time I went and turned the heat up. I was getting comfortable when my boss came out of his office and turned it back down (I don't think he knew that I had turned it up)! Oh, well...it's days like this that I wish I liked coffee! It looked so much warmer outside that it really was but I was told that by the end of the week it's supposed to warm up really nicely! Hooray!! Hopefully it holds the warm through the weekend - we need to have an outdoor volleyball game! Just imagine...the sky so blue and dotted with puffy white clouds, daffodils blooming, and the feel of soft warm grass between your bare toes! I love spring!

Well, I just completed my 4th Payroll Accounting test. Hopefully I make better on it than I have been making, but I'm not terribly optimistic. :^( That class is tough and I don't think that the textbook that we're using is very good at explaining things. I'll read a paragraph over and over and still be left wondering what I was supposed to learn from it!

Did you hear about the blonde who was worried that her machanic was going to jip her? She was so relieved when he told her that all she needed was turn-signal fluid.

A bit of trivia for you...what two documents have contributed the most to the US government?

I think that's about all the randomness that I can think up for this time, girls!

March 1st, 2006

Hey everyone! Can you believe it's really me! I'm here at school between classes and I'm tired of doing homework so I thought I'd update here.

Yesterday was just "one of those days" at work - if it could go wrong, it did! I was so glad when yesterday ended. :^) Thankfully today went better, but I'm still looking forward to the end of this week.

Daniel's b-ball team is playing in their conference tournament tomorrow evening and I'm trying to decide if I should play hooky from school and go watch. I *think* I could get by with it. Decisions, decisions...

This weather has been so nice! At work we've been leaving the front door open to let the fresh air in - it's the next best thing to moving the computer out on the deck and that would be way too much work! :^)

I made a 94 in my Business Law class last night! Hooray!!! (That's without the curve - it will be a 100) I was thrilled! Everyone has been struggling in that class but this test everyone made decently on, Mr. Ledbetter said. Maybe we're finally learning how he puts his test together. He gives us no study guide and the only guideline for what to study for is, "Read the chapters 2-3 times and you'll have no problems"! Who, may I ask, has that kind of study time? I, for one, do not.

Well, that's enough randomness for this time. I'm going to go eat some Oreos and a granola bar before my next class starts - I'm hungery!

Tootles! (BTW...Matthew instructed me the other evening not to say that anymore because it sounds stupid.)

One more thing...a great way to relax after a hard day is to watch Sylvester and Tweety with your little brother!

another quiz...

You are White Chocolate

You have a strong feminine side with a good bit of innocence thrown in.
Whether your girlish ways are an act or not, men like to take care of you.
You are an understated beauty, and your power is often underestimated!

What do you think girls? Is this really me? I tend to think not.

short for sari

You Are An Introvert!

You're not necessarily anti-social, but you do tend to need a lot of alone time.

You tend to think before you talk, which doesn't make you the loudest person in the room.

While you aren't outgoing, you are a good listener - and you tend to be a loyal friend.

And you enjoy your friends as much as any extrovert does, in smaller doses.

You're more of a conversation over dinner type than a party animal... and so are all your friends..

It's really me this time!

Well, I have finally decided that I should update this journal before everyone completely gives up on me! But, hey, I really do have a good excuse of being busy! (Wouldn't working in a tax office at this time of year and going to school full time constitute a busy schedule?) If you still doubt it, you should have been following me around yesterday! Wowee!

Anyhow, not much time here and not much to say either.

Oh, before I post this...my brain would like to go on vacation this weekend. Does anyone have any billiant ideas as to what it should do to accomplish this? Something restful, relaxing and that doesn't involve numbers in any shape, matter, or form!

Well, class begins in just a few minutes and I guess I should open the book at least long enough to know what we are going to be talking about this evening!
